Hey Blogville!

Aroooo everyone! We finally managed to get Her off her tail and at least let everyone know we are still around. We've been busy helping Mom with the yard and the house after the much needed, but not that much, rain! Now it's just H-O-T and the ground is already beginning to crack. Gotta love Texas weather!

We're all doing pretty well. Riley has made some progress with his allergies. He's on a limited ingredient diet and taking fish oil supplements and surviving water torture once a week. The fur on his legs is beginning to grow in, but he still chews occasionally. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and well wishes. About the time Riley had the allergy stuff going on testing started at school and things just seemed to pile up. She apologizes for not responding to everyone, but wants you to know that we read every comment and suggestion and you guys were very helpful!

We're just gonna post a few pics. No big news (that's good, right?) Thinking of all of you!

Seth had great fun digging up the yard. This is one of many holes he managed to accomplished. He did have a goal…get the moles. Mom isn't sure who is doing more damage. I vote Seth.

Chocolate dipped Scottie!

Then the yard work began…this is us, ummm, helping. Yeah, that's it!

Braeden snoopervising as usual. Seth searching for more moles. So far he has yet to catch one. And the yard work continues. This week we planted 17 yards of grass. New shrubs and flowers are on the horizon!

And finally….duckies! A very uncommon sight!

Happy Thursday!

Waggies,
Braeden, Seth and Riley

P.S. Don't tell anyone, but we snuck out and took the Blogville firetruck for a spin. What a ride!

Allergies - Yikes!

Hi guys! Riley here. Mom needs a bit of help. We haven't done much posting in a while, mostly because Braeden and I have been in and out of the dogtor's office so many times in the last couple of months She just couldn't keep up.

Anyway, I know some of you have allergies, and I've joined the ranks. After lots of tests, they discovered I have FOOD allergies, of all things! I'm allergic to beef, eggs, flax and sweet potatoes! I'm now on a limited ingredient food, which seems to be helping some BUTT I decided to feast on acorns and twigs in the yard and ended up in the hospital with gastritis. *sigh* We got that under control, and even though they were reminded several times about the food allergies, they (the V-E-T) gave me some bland food to eat for about a week afterwards. Guess what was in it? Yep, BEEF and EGGS! When the Peeps figured it out, they quit feeding it to me, but I had already done a number on my leg furnishings. The problem is, I keep pulling the hair out and my back legs are bald!

So, we have a few of questions…

If you have allergies, what do your Peeps do to relieve the itching?

Do you have to take lots of baths?

Do you have to eat "special" food, too?

Do you use coconut oil, or any other types of supplements to help with your skin and fur? If you put it on your skin, how does your Peep keep you from licking it off?

If you do use supplements, are they topical or do you get them with pill pockets, or on your food?

Do you have any suggestions for my Peeps to keep me from chewing and scratching and ripping my hair out?

Any info you can give the Peeps is appreciated! I'm wearing them out with the ripping and chewing.

This photo was just the beginning. I am now hairless on both back legs. And I've started on my chin. I will be a sad looking Junior Officer if They can't get this under control. And I need to look good in my cap and badge!

Waggies,
Riley

Mischief Monday

The shenanigans are real. We've missed sharing them with you guys. She has some pretty lame excuses, so we will just tell you that we DEMANDED she post SOMETHING or we would all exact our revenge.

While She was working in the yard, SOMEDOGGY got into a bit of mischief. See that big white blob at the top? That's not stuffy-stuffing, thats SAND. On carpet.

The remains of Her treasured Scottie door stop. The little culprit though it was a STUFFY.

SOMEDOGGY

Happy Mischief Monday Efurrybuddy!

Heart 2 Heart Dance

What a great time we had at the Heart 2 Heart Dance! Seth and I took the adorable BFF's Whitley and Finley! We picked them up at their house and met the Moms, had a few snacks YUM! and played with Whitley's new stuffie! She's the perfect Southern Belle and doesn't mind sharing!

After the meet and greet was finally over successfully accomplished, we trotted out the door to the Dance. Seth and I knew we were gonna have a great time. Finley and Whitley are fun-lovin' gals who enjoy a fun night on the town! We finally made it to the dance, after Seth made a few wrong turns, and refused to use the GPS! We even saw a few Valentine Zombies on the way! That was scary! BUTT we got to the Blogville Regency Hotel just in time to have our picture taken on the red carpet! Here we are with some of our Blogville furiends! Doesn't everyone look great? Wow, Princess Leah and Chester make an adorable couple!

We then headed to the Photo Booth to have our Couple's pictures made. I just love this picture of Finley and me. She looks beautiful in her new pink dress!

Then it was Seth and Whitley's turn in the Photo Booth. We think they may have stayed in there a little too long BOL

Riley even had his picture taken TWICE!  He said he had a great time in the Youth room with all his furiends and had a blast in the bounce house, sliding (Whew! thank goodness he missed Teddy!)  and peeking through the window at the grownups! He says he saw Madi twerking…how are we gonna explain this to Mom? Here's his adorable Valentine card they made.

We had a wonderful time at the dance, and we hope that you had a great time too! Thanks so much to Mayors Stanley and Murphy's Mom and Arty's Mom for putting together a fantastic dinner and dance! We know all of Blogville will be talking about this for a LONG time (not to mention the twerking incident BOL)!

Thank you Finley and Whitley for being our dates! We had a great time, and hope you had fun! We will remember this day forever…the day two of the prettiest Westies went with us to our FIRST EVER Valentine's Day party! Huh? Oh, yeah I'll ask her….Finley, Seth wants to know if you still have some of those hot dogs left over from dinner. He says he should have ordered the triple-meat burger at Whataburger on the way home.

Hope Ya'll have a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Please say YES!

I really wanted to do it up in true Scottie style, but it's been a long week (already) and Mom said we needed to get a move on or I would miss my chance!

Finley, I would love to take you to the dance. I will be waiting by the yaptop for your reply.

Update on Braeden

First of all, a BIG Thank You to everyone for their comments, support and POTP for Braeden! He was able to come home tonight! We are still watching him like hawks, but he seems to be doing well having been so sick! He's a bit subdued, although a little restless, and seems happy to be home. He still has the catheter in his leg for the IV, but it doesn't appear to bother him.

Braeden is allowed to have a tablespoon and a half of food every hour and a half. He's on a low fat food, and he is tolerating it well. Honestly, it doesn't look very appetizing, but you would think he was feasting on prime rib! After 36 or so hours without food, we suppose anything tastes good. He's drinking water, but is having a bit of trouble with cone interference BOL That's probably more my fault than anything else. We haven't had much experience with the Cone of Shame.

We have an appointment with the dogtor at 8 am tomorrow. If all goes well tonight they will remove the catheter and let him come home. He will be on a restrictive diet to help prevent any more occurrences. A small price to pay to keep him healthy! We are very grateful to have such a wonderful dogtor and staff take care of Braeden.

Braeden wants to tell you that he has agreed to let me post pictures of him if he could watch Animal Planet tonight.  So here goes…looks like it's gonna be an exciting evening of TV watching!

This is humiliating. Can we decorate it? Like you would sign a cast?

This is where my catheter is. I think red was a great choice of color, but I hope they take it off tomorrow

Sometimes ya just gotta put your paws up and relax. It's a great night for Animal Planet.

Thanks again for all your well wishes! It means the world to us!

Grateful Waggies,
From the Scottie Shenanigans Clan

POTP Please

It's been a rough weekend for us here at Scottie Shenanigans. It began Friday night when Braeden went to the vet. Turns out he had a pretty bad ear infection related to allergies. He came home with Posatex and Prednisone to treat the infection.

Saturday morning started off fine. Breakfast, Trifexis, Lunch, Prednisone, Posatex, Dinner (and a few treats for good measure). So far, so good. On Sunday we started again minus the Trifexis. After a late lunch he threw up. Okay, so that happens sometimes, right? Of course, he was drinking quite a bit of water which I attributed to the Prednisone, so I figured he had overindulged in the water bowl. Dinner came about 8:30. 10:30 more throwing up. He drank more water. 11:45, yep more throwing up. By this time I had become quite concerned. He's never been a puker. I honestly can't say how many more times this happened throughout the night. Maybe three? Four?

At 7:15 this morning I coaxed him to the car (okay, so maybe I carried him). He was quite subdued on the car ride, laying in the seat. Braeden loves car rides, once you get him in the car so by then I was sure there was a serious problem. The vet opened at 7:30. No appointment, no problem. I was able to talk with the vet tech and give her the rundown and written sequence of events. She suggested they do a blood workup but would have the dogtor call me if he recommended anything else. Within the hour, the dogtor called. Pancreatitis. Elevated blood levels. They would do an x-ray to rule out other problems and start him on IV fluids. Thankfully the x-rays came back normal. No growths, no enlarged organs. So pancreatitis it is. Braeden will be in the hospital at least overnight and through the day tomorrow. I considered bringing him home overnight and taking him back in the morning for more IV treatments, but with all the activity around here, I decided it was best if he had some quiet and could get some rest. Not to mention he was pretty ticked off when Seth ate this morning and he didn't get any food. I couldn't do that to him twice in one day!

The dogtor is going to call this evening with an update. Hopefully there will be improvement from this morning. Please take a moment to send some POTP through the airwaves to Texas. Braeden and I would very much appreciate it.

PeeS...Braeden asks that you not judge the blanket. He had already thrown up on the two "good" ones. This was all we could find. And yes, those are Scottie sheets. He knows you won't judge those. BOL

Meh Monday

This was not how I expected to spend the next 14 days. The cone of shame is the result of my little procedure on Friday. I will say, this cute little accessory is much better than that big ol' plastic thing. Now THAT was a disaster! I'm okay, this is just the aftermath of being subjected to the ol' snip-snip. Yep, they took my manhood away. But that's okay. I'm a responsible pup. And I'm still a cutie. And I'm being treated like a king. But that's not unusual. I'm getting extra treats and snuggles, since I can't romp with Braeden and Seth. It's all good. Don't I look good in teal?

Inauguration Day!

Junior Officer Riley reporting for duty! Today is my first day on the job as a Junior Office and I am so excited to part of The Doodz Inauguration!

I've been working all day getting my furs just right, and my pawsome new Junior Officer Police Cap polished and looking pawfessional. I hope I can impress my new boss, Top Cop Sidebites. He's a seasoned pawfessional, and I want to make him proud of me! Here he is in charge of communications. Whoa doggies, I gotta get some of those official looking Ray-Bans!

I've been assigned crowd control and security for the big event today. I'm working with some pawsome  Officers today! Officer Sully is piloting the Blogville Police Department helicopter. One day I hope to fly in Chopper 1with him.

Officer Abby is responsible for making sure I get things right. I have to keep…..What's that? A disturbance at 7th Street and Blogville Way? We have to head out now? 10-4 I'm ready to rock and roll! OMD my first ride in an OFFICIAL Blogville Police Car! Woo-hoo! I'm ready to put my training to the test! Put the pedal to the metal Officer Abby. Let's get these guys!

Can you believe the ba… (sorry, hehe) nerve of these interloping, mischief causing squirrels? Trying to disrupt the Doodz inauguration? Well, we got 'em! We took 'em down before they knew what hit 'em!

We rounded 'em up and loaded 'em in the transport. Police Commissioner Sarge really knows how to deal with the criminal types!

I'm headed back to do surveillance and crowd control with the rest of the Officers. After I find my Junior Officer Police cap. It flew off when Sully landed Chopper 1. I hope I don't get demerits for that.

Another exciting day in Blogville, protecting and serving our great Community!

Junior Officer Riley, over and out.
